Standard USB ports on computers provide only 500mA. A USB power source
providing a minimum of 1.5A(amps) is required to charge the M300 while connected to
    the Hot-Swap Battery.

Due to the architecture needed to support the Hot-Swap Batteries, the M300 will
continue to consume a small amount of power, even when powered off if the HotSwap
Battery and Main Units are connected. To prevent the batteries from
discharging when the device is not in use, disconnect either end of the Power Cable
connecting the Hot-Swap Battery and Main Unit.

This information and more can be found on the Vuzix M300 User Manual

For those with adapters at home please see the guide below for adapters that do not meet the requirements and for those that do meet the requirements.

Can only charge the hot swap battery while disconnected from the M300 Smart Glasses:

    • iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPad mini
all use a 5W 1A(amp) USB Power Adapter.

Can charge while the hot swap battery is connected to the M300 Smart Glasses:

    • iPad 2, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 2, and iPad mini 3
all use a 10W 2.1A USB Power Adapter
    • iPad with Retina display
      use a 12W 2.4A USB Power Adapter
